At the legendary Brill Building in New York’s Times Square, Sensory Interactive recently worked with property owner Brookfield to select Daktronics for the fabrication and installation of a system of large-scale exterior LED displays.
The direction of this procurement process is part of Sensory Interactive’s broader scope of services for the Brill Building’s display program, which also documentation and project management services.
The program now being installed will add six LED displays to the building, which is located at 1619 Broadway, between 49th and 50th Streets. The display program makes the most of this high-visibility address by placing signage elements on both sides of the building’s corner location. Two displays will face 49th Street, three will face Broadway, and one large vertical display will be curved around the corner.
The six displays will all feature a 10-millimeter pixel pitch and will have a total surface area of 1,265 square feet. The largest display – curved around the corner of 49th and Broadway – will be more than 26 feet high by 14 feet wide.
By deploying multiple displays at this key intersection, the owner is creating a unique opportunity for advertisers, sponsors, and tenants to engage audiences from a variety of points within Times Square.
