Sensory Interactive is wrapping up the rollout of a nationwide program of interactive directories for longtime client Macerich. The program includes more than 130 individual directories at 18 different Macerich retail centers across the U.S.
The geographic diversity of the projects included in the rollout, along with their broad range of physical conditions and architectural styles, made this a complex and demanding project. To addresses these challenges, Sensory Interactive began by working with Macerich’s in-house facilities design group to develop a form factor for the kiosk enclosure that would work across all of the projects. The team then directed the specification and procurement process for the kiosks’ hardware, software, and enclosures. This included carefully vetting potential vendors to confirm their ability to handle the rollout’s significant size and ambitious timeline.
During the kiosks’ fabrication and installation, the Sensory Interactive team worked closely with vendors and the property management staff at each of the 18 projects to coordinate scheduling and communications. Sensory Interactive was also onsite at each project during the process, managing installation activities and reviewing the work of project vendors.
The directory kiosks are integrated with the Macerich Digital Network, which Sensory Interactive has helped Macerich to refine and expand in recent years. This integration allows the directory elements to deliver advertising or sponsorship messages as part of an extensive network of LED displays at Macerich centers across the nation.
